Billy grew up in Nashville, TN, where his family went to church regularly. When he was 6 years old, he heard a sermon on hell and did not want to go there. After sharing his concern with his mother, she consulted with the pastor as to how to deal with one so young. She was advised to just answer his questions fully and completely, which she did. A few weeks later, he walked the aisle of the church where he made public his profession of faith in Jesus. After graduating from college with a degree in accounting, he became a C.P.A. and worked in the business world until God called him into full-time ministry. Since graduating from seminary, he has served churches in Alabama, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and Virginia. as well as serving as the Associate Director of Pioneers, an international missions agency. He is the former Senior Pastor of Centreville Baptist Church in Centreville, VA. He and his wife, Diane, have been married for 37 years, have 2 adult sons and 2 grandchildren. One of the highlights of his preaching/teaching ministry came in October 2015, when he had the privilege of teaching in the World Hope Bible Institute in Paris, France. Although the city was as beautiful as he had imagined, the real beauty was teaching approximately 120 young French church leaders and prospective church leaders who do not have ready access to theological training. Billy joined the WHMI Board in 2016 and has now rotated off to take on this new position.
