homepage background

We greatly want to thank God for how far He has brought us since the beginning of the month. The Lord has been so gracious to us. All our children are doing well and working hard in school. Some of our teenage girls have just graduated from training on how to conduct oneself in Christianity and day-to-day life.

In May we were honored to host a team of servants of God and our friends from the United States of America. The team conducted open-air crusades, visited both primary and secondary schools, and visited different churches where they held seminars, including women’s conferences. They also had time, in the evenings, to share from the Bible, give personal testimonies and lead songs of worship.  Additionally, the team worked with the children, writing letters to sponsors, sharing candy, and having fun together. Truly these were great and special moments. We thank God for the lives they touched. Glory be to God.

Our dear friends, we lack enough words to express our gratitude to you for all your prayer and support for these precious children. We serve a mighty God who gives us hope for their future.  May the almighty God bless you!

We love you all,

Director James Sawe

Who– Elder James Sawe and local council made up of local pastors and village leaders.

Where – Lemoru, Kenya

WhatThis ministry is actively seeking to spread the good news of Jesus Christ throughout western Kenya, Eastern Uganda, Northern Tanzania and Southern Sudan. This is being accomplished through continuous public evangelization, meeting needs in the surrounding communities, planting new churches among new believers and providing free, systematic theological training to local pastors and leaders.

How – Brother James and the local council of pastors and leaders continue to plan monthly events, camps, missions, service projects, and more to expand the glorious reach and transformation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Many of our WHMI teams come alongside this vision to perform dramas in schools, prisons and orphanages; teach soccer clinics; preach crusades and share the Gospel door to door.

Why – Jesus said, “I AM the way, the truth and the life, and no one can go to the Father in heaven except through Me.”  Without believing in and living for Jesus, the wrath of God will keep the lost from experiencing heaven and eternal salvation.  Jesus said, “Go and make disciples…”, so Brother James has been called to go and give guidance to God’s work among his beautiful Kenyan brothers and sisters.

What’s already been done?  In Lemoru, basic needs were met in Jesus’ name through a children’s home, currently hosting 55 children, assisting with the construction of schools, providing a power generator, theological training for dozens of area pastors, and much sharing of the Gospel. Lemoru has seen complete transformation in the past 15 years. The local people are now reaching out to the surrounding towns, counties and countries to provide the same truth and service they have received.

Can you come alongside our work in Kenya?  YES!  Here are 4 ways you can join God in this great work of making disciples in southwest Kenya:

  1. Pray! Please join us in praying the following:
    • God will pour out His Spirit to open hearts and minds to the gospel.
    • God will pour out His resources through His worldwide Church to help this ministry thrive daily.
    • God will keep Brother James, his family and the local team spiritually healthy to endure all the obstacles of the enemies with joy, thanksgiving, courage, purity and faithfulness.
  2. Go! We are looking for 3 to 4 teams to join this work in February - October, 2016. The cost is approximately $3000-3500 / person. This is all-inclusive including airfare from Houston to Nairobi, then a domestic flight from Nairobi to Eldoret, accommodations, food and water, transport, translators and ministry materials.
  3. Give! Though he earns his own living as a land and cattle owner, Brother James and the local council rely on monthly support from their local churches, other churches, individuals, and various other ministries that God has called to come alongside them to accomplish His vision. Please review the steps to give below, then click here .
    • Be sure to click "Direct my Donation To" and select "Monthly Support by Country."
    • In the dropdown menu that appears, please select "Lemoru, Kenya." Your gift will go towards the support of Brother James and God's ministry through him in Lemoru.
  4. All of the above!
